Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is the Onfloor SWOOP™ used for Floor Preparation or Polishing?
Onfloor SWOOP™ is designed to be a dedicated concrete floor polishing machine. While the machine does accept rough grit tooling that can be used for concrete floor profiling, it is optimized for use in the concrete floor polishing industry.
2. How much floor can the machine polish in an average day?
Depending on the condition of the concrete, the layout of the floor to be polished and the abrasive tooling used, the Onfloor SWOOP™ can polish up to 25,000 square feet in an average work day.
3. Why is the SWOOP more efficient than a planetary grinder for polishing floors?
The Onfloor SWOOP™ utilizes (3) high-speed 5hp Baldor motors spinning at 1800 rpm to bring concrete floors to a high polish. In concrete polishing a constant ratio of abrasive speed and friction is essential to a uniform and high quality finish. Constant speed polishing and burnishing machines excel at this task and are technically superior to planetary polishers where the diamonds turn at speeds that vary widely during the epicycular .motion of the abrasive tool on the concrete surface.
4. What type of tooling can I use on the Onfloor SWOOP™?
The Onfloor SWOOP™ is compatible with a wide array of diamond and carbide infused abrasive tooling for use in concrete grinding and polishing applications. The machine is optimized for polishing applications. The SWOOP™ tools are designed in a variety of grit sizes ranging from an aggressive metal-bond 6 grit diamond tool all the way to a phenolic resin-bond 3000 grit polishing pad.
5. How powerful is the Onfloor SWOOP™?
The Onfloor SWOOP™ is equipped with (3) three-phase 480v 5hp motors for a total power rating of 15hp. It is the fastest most powerful dedicated concrete polisher on the market today.
7. Are there any additional tools I will need to operate the Onfloor SWOOP™?
